Most every college student has taken either the ACT test or the SAT test before or during their first year of college. Both tests give the administration of a college a guideline to judge if the student will be a good student and be able to handle the rigors of college or if the student will be admitted but will be given remedial courses to catch them up. The college may even decide not to take you as a student if your scores are not high enough.
So this test is a very important to the student and their future as a college student. The test day should be anticipated and studied for, but when that day arrives some precautions should be taken the day before. Get plenty of sleep the day before the test. Do not spend the entire night jamming for the test. If you do not know the material by now, a night without sleep will not help you learn it. A good eight to nine hours is best.
Do not study the night before the test. The studying will cause anxiety that will carry over to the next morning. Test anxiety can kill the test taking abilities and will be amplified once the test is in front of the student. You might want to take it easy and just relax the night before so that you go into the test the next day calm and ready to go. Go to a movie or just sit at home. The more relaxed you are before the test day, the better you will do.
Watch what you eat the day before the test. It would be wise not to eat beans or other foods that give you gas or make you have to use the restroom often. The student doesn’t need their stomach grumbling during test time. If the stomach does act up, have some Tums or some crackers in the pockets of your trousers so that you can quell the disturbance. Have plenty to drink the night before, but not so much when you go to the test.
Avoid alcohol or sedatives that make you sleep the night before. Taking a test with a hangover or being assessed when you are fighting the affects of sleeping aides can cause the student not to be able to perform as well as a natural nights sleep. With sleep, good nutrition, and plenty of studying, most students will perform well on either test.
