There are many to choose from that offered in Arkansas, but there is one that is quite popular and encourages students to continue their education in Arkansas. This type of scholarship not only helps local students, but also helps the state colleges and universities increase their student count.
This scholarship is called the ADHE Arkansas Governor's Scholars Program and is eligible to all Arkansas students who continually achieved high grades and achievement while in high school. About 75 of these scholarships are awarded so that these superior students who are then accepted into an approved Arkansas college or university. This is called the Arkansas Law Enforcement Officers’ (LEO) Dependents Scholarship. This is an eight-semester scholarship program for those planning on attending any state-supported college, university, or technical institute in Arkansas.
